FAQs

How do I know if I need psychiatric services?

You may benefit from psychiatric services if you’re experiencing persistent mood changes, anxiety, difficulty coping, or symptoms that interfere with daily life. A psychiatric evaluation can help determine whether medication or other treatments may support your overall mental health and recovery. Our team is here to guide you through that process with care and clarity.

How do psychiatric services work with other therapy services?

Our psychiatric team’s primary expertise is in medication management. Medication will most likely be considered in treatment. With that said, we consider all modes of treatment that may best suit the needs of the individual. Exploration, discussion, and consideration of alternative or adjunctive non-medication treatments are welcomed.

A combination of talk therapy and medication is effective for many individuals. These forms of treatment work in congruence to help individuals achieve both short and long term healing and growth. Whether they have their own outpatient therapist or see one of our be Collaborative outpatient therapists, all members of the care team will work together to create a comprehensive treatment plan that best fits your needs.

How frequently will I need appointments?

The frequency of appointments depends on medical necessity.  It can range from every 4 weeks to every 6 months. Appointments are usually more frequent when there is an adjustment in medication(s) and/or when it is a newly established client.

How long will I need to be on medication?

The length of medication treatment varies between individuals based on medical necessity. Some factors that play a role in length of treatment are history of recurring symptoms, persisting symptoms, and ongoing external stressors that maintain symptoms

Do I need to also be seeing an outpatient therapist at be Collaborative Care to receive psychiatric services?

No, you do not need to be a pre-existing client at be Collaborative Care to receive medication management services from us. We work collaboratively with outside therapists and other professional providers to best serve the client.

If you do not see an outpatient therapist, and would like to, our intake team will be happy to provide referrals to support you through that process.
